Nigerian singer BNXN (formerly Buju) and veteran producer Sarz have officially announced their joint project, a 5-track EP titled The Game Needs Us, scheduled for release on May 11, 2026.
The announcement comes on the heels of their lead single Back Outside, which dropped on April 20, 2026, via T.Y.E / EMPIRE.
The track has since dominated charts, spending multiple days at No. 1 on Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs and generating strong buzz across streaming platforms.
Back Outside” marks BNXN’s first solo release of 2026 following his sophomore album CAPTAIN, which arrived in July 2025 and featured collaborations with Rema, Victony, Seyi Vibez, FOLA, and the Soweto Gospel Choir. The project delivered standout tracks including “Cutesy,” “Very Soon,” and “Laye Mi,” contributing to its impressive streaming numbers and chart performance.
For Sarz, the collaboration continues his reputation for crafting polished, detail-driven production that has powered successful joint projects in the past, including I Love Girls With Trobul with Wurld (2019), LV N ATTN with Lojay (2021), and Sweetness with Obongjayar (2021). His refined sound pairs naturally with BNXN’s smooth, emotionally rich delivery, creating the perfect foundation for what fans are already calling a highly anticipated body of work.
Early details indicate The Game Needs Us will feature five tracks, with “Back Outside” setting the tone for the EP. The project is expected to further highlight the chemistry between the two artists, who have now moved beyond a one-off single into a full collaborative effort. The EP is scheduled to arrive on all major streaming services on May 11, 2026.
