The album we have been eagerly anticipating is finally out. A-Q and Loose Kaynon‘s joint Album, “Crown” has been officially released to much acclaim. “Crown” is part of the LAMB August series of albums earlier announced by M.I Abaga back in July. LAMB is an acronym for Loose Kaynon, A-Q, M.I and Blaqbonez whose albums will be released in that order. We have listened to the album and here are some things you need to know about the joint album.

This is A-Q’s First Joint Album

A-Q‘, real names Gilbert Bani is a popular Nigerian Rapper, with multiple albums and mixtapes to his name. His last album, “Blessed Forever” was released in 2017 and was well received. A-Q started out by collecting and miming to hip-hop tracks at a very young age and soon stated writing and performing his own songs. A-Q made his debut in 2004 with the song “(W)rap Nigeria” and he released his debut album “Listen And Overstand” a year later. Crown is his fifth studio album

Loose Kaynon Has Been Around For A While Too

Loose Kaynon made his debut in 2008 with “It’s Okay” featuring General Pype. Loose Kaynon, spent his childhood in Kaduna before moving to Lagos to continue his education and music and he was signed by Chocolate City. The Chocolate City VP has the “Gemini Project” and many other hard hitting songs and compilations in his discography. He also co-owns “100 Crowns Entertainment” with A-Q.

They Didn’t Like Each Other At First!

Speaking with us earlier, A-Q in an interview, admitted that Loose Kaynon didn’t like him at first. In his words ” I respected his honesty,[and] I understood where he was coming from, and in time he saw I was not what people said I was. We became friends, I respect his music orientation and let him choose the music, although we had to argue a lot of times, we always reached a meeting point”

This Is The First Album In The LAMB Series

This is the first of 3 albums executive produced by Chocolate City head honcho, M.I Abaga. M.I’s finger prints are all over this project and he even made a cameo appearance on one of the tracks (find out for yourself). M.I also has production credits on some of the songs and he handled the engineering of the entire album himself, and I dare say, its premium work from M.I. Kudos, M!

The Features Are Lit!!

CROWN” featuring “Show Dem Camp” is one of the hottest hip-hop songs you’ll probably hear this year. Right from the first second of the track, all you hear is FIRE!!! The four rappers go back to back, pound for pound and bar for bar on a sick instrumental produced by Reinhard Tega, This song should be listed as a narcotic because it is too dope. Alongside “Crown“, there are other stand out songs and features from the album like “Out Of This World‘ featuring Debbie Romeo, “Gang Gang” featuring Torna (Who the hell is this kid by the way????) “Hustlers Prayer” and in fact, all the songs on the album stand out in their own way. BlaqBonez also makes an appearance on “Off Black” Go check it out.

A-Q and Loose also hook up wit regular suspects C’Kay and Beats By Jayy for the production on the album. In the end, it is 10-track bar-fest by the two highly talented rappers and the featured artists.

The Album Is Charting!!

The album is out on all major streaming platforms and it is predicted to have opening week numbers of about 20k to 40k sales and hundreds of thousands of streams. Already making its way up Nigeria’s Hip-Hop charts on streaming platforms, we are pretty sure those numbers will be accomplished and eclipsed.
