Crayon, born Charles Chibueze Chukwu, 28, has ignited controversy on X (formerly Twitter) after a series of now-deleted tweets targeting his former label, Mavin Records. The singer publicly aired grievances against Don Jazzy, the label’s founder, Tega Oghenejobo (popularly known as Tega Mavin), the company’s President and COO, and fellow artist Rema.
Explosive Claims

Crayon accused the label of financial exploitation and favoritism, suggesting he was sidelined despite his contributions. His tweets were laced with raw emotion and direct attacks:
- “Don Jazzy na my boy. Una dey maddddd!!?? Shayennnnn sharayyyyyy333”
- “Tega highest criminal!!!!!!!!!”
- “Mavin is going down!!!!!!”
- “Rema for the next 100 years, no feature. You stole my star from me. Yeah I took tha shiiiiii backkkkk hoeeeeerrrr!!!!! Snakkkkkkkeeeeeesssssssss”

Signs of Departure and Rebrand
Crayon recently previewed and released a soulful single titled Baami, produced by Ozedikus. The track carries a strong message of resilience, with lyrics hinting that he refuses to be taken for a fool, cannot be exploited, and will continue to rise above hurdles. The reference to “Shagari” in the song hints at his claims of unpaid royalties by Mavin Records.
His updated bio now features a new profile picture resembling the logo of his new label, alongside fresh management details—noticeably without any mention of Mavin Records. Crayon further signalled his departure by sharing contact information, a new booking email for Olodum Entertainment : Bookings@olodument.co.uk.
This move underscores his intent to rebrand and establish independence from his former label.
