Blackface who just released his version of African Queen, a song by former group mate, Tuface, is in the news again for shading Nigerian music diva, Tiwa Savage.
Blackface was on Max FM Lagos for an Interview. During the session, he was asked on his take about the present state of Nigerian music and he made reference to Tiwa Savage’s lyrics, stating it isn’t what a lady should be singing about.
“What I noticed over the years is that the lyrics became flimsy and some people lost their sense of belonging, sense of who they are. Because I started hearing some ladies do some song like not really going well with how you want to hear a lady talk like.
“When a lady is telling you somethings that really don’t count s’o ma gbe mi lo’le, will you gbadun my waist…i just think the ladies and the women should come up with reasonable lyrics,”
He also recommended the men should redefine their lyrics too, making reference to Davido’s “Omo baba olowo” chants, saying nobody cares about who you are.
