Fresh off the release of a surprise Jazz album, DJ Spinall is already shifting gears. The producer has previewed a new track titled “SHABA,” featuring Mavo and Deto Black.

The move suggests that while Spinall’s recent Jazz project allowed him to explore a creative itch, his focus has snapped back to the club-ready sounds that define his brand.

The Jazz Experiment as a “Pet Project”

Spinall’s recent Jazz outing arrived with almost no mainstream buzz. Eschewing a typical aggressive rollout, the album felt like a personal experiment—a “pet project” designed for artistic expression rather than chart dominance. By moving quickly to preview “SHABA,” Spinall confirms the Jazz era was a brief detour rather than a permanent change in lane.

The Lineup for “SHABA

The lineup indicates a strategic play for the 2026 mainstream:

Mavo: Currently on a “stupendous run,” he has been flooding the timeline with daily snippets. His inclusion brings a fresh, urgent energy to the track.

Deto Black: Known for her “Alté Y2K Baddie” aesthetic, she has long been a cult favorite. This guest appearance marks a significant pivot, representing her first major foray into the Nigerian mainstream.
