Ghanaian Rapper Gemini Orleans has a message for the kids on this new single Gangstas Die, It was inspired by his intent and desire to let the kids know that being a “Gangster” or a “Thug” invariably ends up with your death or incarceration, I kind of like the flow on the song which is taken off his new Mixtape Dopest Rapper 2, check it out below.

“Gangsta die when the bullets go ‘Boom!’ ‘Boom!’…When I grow up I wanna be ‘gangsta’…” These are the catchy lyrics of a powerful and thought-provoking rap song that plays back in my head ever since I first heard it and left me pondering over how critical gang-related violence has become in our society today putting the lives of many youth at risk. So to put to sleep my curiosity about this myth, I inquired to know what the term ‘gangsta’ means in the context of the song and I came up with these basic findings.
A ‘gangsta’ is a criminal leader of a gang of mobsters and thugs. Some gangs are considered to be part of organized crime. ‘Gangstas’ have been active for many years in countries worldwide.
Some ‘gangstas’, such as Al Capone, Tony Montana, to name a few, have become infamous by becoming the subject of many classic movies, particularly from the period between 1930 and 2000.
Although their ending is presented as a moral outcome, it is usually seen as no more than an accidental failure. The ‘gangsta’ is typically smart and logical, although at times lonely and depressed, and his wordly wisdom and defiance of social norms has a strong appeal, particularly to adolescents or children for that matter. 
The question here is are these the people in society to be emulated by these little kids? Are they as untouchable and immortal as they’ve been perceived to be in the minds of these youngsters? “Gangsta Die” by Gemini Orleans shares his thoughts on how the modern day ‘gangsta’ ought to be perceived. A mere mortal who risks a lifetime of peace, love and godliness for the pleasures of this world to gain utmost power, fear and notoriety.
