When I took a closer look at Yung 6ix‘s crew Kash Kamp Trick Billionaire Music Crew aka KKTBM, B’Raiz is the guy who stood out to me immediately.Though the crew consists of other acts Percy, SD and Otee Beatz, B’Raiz  struck me as the hungriest one and the next guy who will follow in the footsteps of his boss to establish himself as a house hold name. The Ice Prince to Yung 6ixs’ M.I Abaga,he has been working in the studio since 2012, dropping singles, videos as well as making guest appearances on records, all this came to a culmination last month when the young man decided this year to drop his first body of work, a 6-track EP titled Lights, Camera, Hustle.A project which shows his development as an artiste, songwriter and all round entertainer.
The EP which was entirely produced by Da Real Knife Beat starts off with the Intro which was laced with sombre piano keys and had Raiz spitting reality bars like “Where I’m from you’re hella lucky if you see 21 / Cuz Bullets fly more than Birds in the city I’m from / Like a Comic my Nigga, all them Guns get drawn / You can’t block them shots, it aint Basketball”.The beat the switches up halfway to a Snap sound and so did his flow to a more agressive one, the song then came to an end with him spitting with a Patois style over the Reggae style beat which the instrumental had evolved to creating a very fitting opening to his project.Previously released impressive single Kilode comes next, this one is a Snap-rap song spiced with triumphant horns and gave him the right atmosphere to spit braggadocios rap lines which has been a pre-requisite for Rappers from the beginning of time. The first of 3 guests featured on the project Female singer Shale is on the next song Find A Way a song which gave both artistes a chance to marry their different musical styles and display their skill, an opportunity which they took wholeheartedly to make one of the best songs in his catalog thus far.

B-Raiz – Find A Way Featuring Shale [ Official Music Video ]
on 3AM B’Raiz shows his softer side by singing for over a minute, then rapping on the rest of the track. The song does not have the conventional 16 bar-hook song structure but that fact is almost unnoticeable to a passive listener because of how smooth the song is,This one is going to be a fan favourite.Unlike the last song before it, the singing on the chorus of Fly Away was a bit off key, also the beat was the weakest on the Tape and featured guest Tesh Carters verse did not stand out to me at all.The project comes to a close on Blow You A Kiss which features Hanu Jay, a song which was created to give the project a feminine appeal and channel his romantic nature.
Delta State has given us Hip-Hop acts like KiomaErigga, Yung 6ix and Dr Flezzy, B’Raiz proves with this project that he can add his name to that impressive list. This EP will appeal to anybody who is an out and out fan of Hip-Hop music and shows clearly that B’Raiz has learnt a lot in his 3 year sojourn in the industry,However the EP falls a bit short in the department of creativity and his bars were a bit one dimensional as he spoke about almost the same things on all tracks However, in doing in six tracks what could’ve been done in three, B’Raiz does still demonstrate that he’s able to blend modern Rap techniques with nice beats and create a pretty good rap career for himself.Though this may not be the best EP you will hear this year, it is a testament that Raiz is ready to take the game on and has the potential to improve along the way.
