Jos, Nigeria-born rapper Kahli Abdu and Brooklyn-based production team VHS Safari follow their debut album A.R.T. Project with Journey. The self-produced 3-track EP, which was recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn, fleshes out the group’s sound, bringing in live drums and additional instrumentation to their productions. “Be A Body” features a Grimes sample, while “Doin My Thing” and “Fear Fear Factor” are remixes of previous Abdu tracks, the latter of which is an interpolation of Fela Kuti‘s “Fear Not For Man.” The album’s cover artwork, was crafted by DJ Underdog. Stream ‘Journey’, being released ahead of Kahli Abdu & VHS Safari’s first trip to Nigeria as a group, below.
