Wearing a green Turbante-se to represent natural wealth and black attire to symbolize strength, Olawumi poses in front of a white background with gold streamers falling from the sky. The New Jersey-native truly embodies her Nigerian roots in this glitchy, yet minimal visual for “Queen Shit,” her OkayAfrica premiered anthem for feminist thinkers. Many would expect expect to something more exciting like a throne and man slaves for a song like “Queen Shit” but Olawumi keeps things pretty simplistic stating, “In the most classy, trippy, Soul Trap way, I wanted the video to be symbolic to how I view myself – in the fur coat, looking lavish – it’s how I am at all times.”

When asked about the creation of the video Olawumi said, “In the most classy, trippy, Soul Trap way, I wanted the video to be symbolic to how I view myself – in the fur coat, looking lavish – it’s how I am at all times.” Sooner than later listeners can expect CROWNS, the soul-trap star’s forthcoming EP. Vibe out, and get into the minimalistic video for “Queen Shit.”
