It was a dramatic night on the PGM show, 7th of August 2019 on BeatFM 99.9 Lagos as Blaqbonez and his Label boss A-Q left the studio during the show.
Slated to be on the show was rapper, Blaqbonez alongside singer Tems. But Vader The Wildcard an artiste member of the PGM club showed up unannounced, and Douglas Jekan the lead host requested for a rap battle between both rappers who. You will recall we brought you news of Vader’s diss track at Blaqbonez for pronouncing himself Best Rapper In Africa.
Blaqbonez’s label boss A-Q called the turn of events a set up, to have his artiste come uninformed and unprepared and get beaten on live radio. He said he knew there was going to be a twist and obliged to come along with Blaqbonez. He lashed out at Douglas Jekan calling him “predictable”, and then went on to ask for an properly organized rap battle with a money prize on the table.
After A-Q’s speech, he and Blaqbonez stood up and left the studio. Douglas made to clear the air that Vader’s presence wasn’t planned by him beforehand.
A lot of Nigerian hiphop followers have come out to call Douglas Jekan’s action unethical and unprofessional, and supported Blaqbonez for leaving the interview. While some others are of the opinion that a true emcee should always be prepared to defend their claims regardless the grounds.
