Nigerian veteran artiste Tony Tetuila and Ghanian artiste, Tic Tac sues Wizkid & DJ Tunez to court for copyright infringement of their 2004 hit song “Fefe N’efe”
The court document circulating on the internet confirms both artistes sued Wizkid and DJ Tunez to the Nigerian federal high court for having contents of their hit song “Fefe N’efe ripped off by Wzkid in the single “Gbese” owned by DJ Tunez. Tony Tetuila and Tic Tac are both asking for a compensation of thirty million naira (N30,000,000) and 35% of stream income and royalties made off the single.
The screenshot of the already deleted tweet by Tony Tetuila reads, “I just want to clear the air as I am hearing things coming from Ghana. Yes, it is true that myself and Tic from Ghana are both suing Wizkid and DJ Tunez at the Nigerian Federal High Court for violating our intellectual property rights from our song Fefe N’ efe. Our lawyers have advised us not to say more than that. Thank you. Tony Tetuila”.
Wizkid or DJ Tunez are yet to make a public comment on the suit. Wizkid seem to be going about his business as he dropped a video to his song “Blow” yesterday, 22nd December 2019.
