Last week, news made it to mainstream media of teenage girl, Tina Ezekwe who got murdered by a drunk police officer on Tuesday 26th May 2020. The story got viral on social media, with public outcry for justice. Generating the hashtag #JusticeForTina.
Outrage still in the air, another case of an undergraduate, Uwa Omozuwa who got raped and murdered in a church in Benin, Edo was reported. The act was committed on 30th May, 2020.
A number of celebrities have publicly addressed the cases, one of them is Nigerian rapper, Falz. The trained lawyer turn artiste, took to his twitter page to condemn the evil acts, calling for the action from the masses beyond social media protests.
“It’s so exhausting to see injustice continue to thrive time after time. Every time we say NOT AGAIN, and then there is a new story. Enough is enough. It’s too disheartening. Justice must be served for the innocent souls we keep on losings.”
“It is important that we are fearless and we are ready to challenge the government through peaceful protests. It’s not enough to sit in our houses and post on socials. Justice must be served #JusticeForUwa #JusticeForTina”, he wrote.
