Since they rebranded from Kalifate To the Brand, Lagos based trio of MauRs, Psalmurai and Dasuki have only created conscious and politically chared music. Today they are out with Hundred Litres a follow-up to their last two songs Chibok Girl and Dawn Of Justice. The song deals with the current fuel scarcity debacle that has a stronghold on Nigeria at the moment. All three rappers infused some humour and tongue-in-cheek innuendo to make the situation more light hearted, I dig this a lot, check it out.

For as far as most Nigerians can remember, the miasma of Fuel Scarcity and Shortages have remained like a deep, black patch hovering above the Nigerian sky, blotting the sun and rain for which life springs in the oil rich country. The nightmares that Nigerians live with regards to fuel shortages and scarcity is well documented globally, however, at this point, the newly repositioned Hip Hop group The Brand, which comprises of Psalmurai, Dasuki & MauRs, attempt to add a page to this chronicle of Nigeria’s Black Gold Woes.

Hundred Liters is the newest song from the Brand but while you take it with a boisterous laugh and a cracked rib for its meme toned humor, it’s layered depth of anguish and grieve Nigerians go through on the daily is all too deafening for the more discerning mind to ignore.

So, how many liters of fuel do you have…1 liter, Hundred Liters…or none?

The Brand.
